Summer is here! I was reading an article in my chiropractor's newsletter today. It was saying that a lot of skin cancer is actually caused by the chemicals in sunscreen! I'd rather take my chances with the sun than put chemical filled lotion on my body and my kid's bodies. When I do use sunscreen for our family, I make sure it's safe and as natural as possible. I don't want my kiddos suffering from sun burns, so I always put sunblock and hats on them when we are outside for a long time.
I was so excited when Scarlet's Naturals offered to let me try out their SunBlock. It's a great all-natural option! She sent me both the SunBlock lotion and the SunStick. I LOVED the stick for out and about. It's such an easy, quick application when we are on the go. I keep it in the diaper bag. The SunBlock also applies very well. I am a sucker for Coconut, so I really enjoyed the fragrance! It also comes in unscented.
This stuff works!! The first time we tried it I slathered up my kiddo, I accidently got a smear on my arm. I sat in the sun all afternoon, and when I came in I was pink everywhere but where I had smeared it!
We were at the pool on Friday, and I covered my oldest daughter with SunBlock from Scarlet's Naturals. It worked!! It was a good day to test out the product, so I didn't wear any. I got a bright red sunburn on my shoulders, my daughter's skin was totally protected.
My oldest daughter, enjoying a fun, sunny day ~ sunburn free! :)
"Scarlet’s SunBlock is an all natural sunscreen that meets FDA approved Broad Spectrum standards for UVA and UVB protection. Water and sweat resistant Scarlet’s SunBlock provides spf 50+ skin protection so you can feel comfortable being outside with your family."
She also sent me a bottle of Scarlet's Honey Wash as an extra. We love the Lavender scent for a calming bath before bed. I'm super picky about shampoo/baby wash/bubble bath, and I'm happy I got to try this out! I've even been using it on my hair, and I really like it.
Made out of a Castile base, this body wash is incredibly gentle on baby
skin, and is as close to a no tear babywash that an all natural baby
wash can be! This low lather wash is 100% chemical free, non-irritating
and works great on all skin types including dry, sensitive skin,or
eczema. Comes in 4 scents- Soothing Lavender, Oatmeal Milk & Honey,
Pearberry, and Unscented! Soothing Lavender Works Great for Bedtime!
About Scarlet's Naturals:
After the birth of our little girl we made the decision for me to stay
at home. My profession has always been teaching and I loved my career. I
have a Masters in Special Education and Rehabilitation, and I have a
true passion for children. My husband and I knew we always wanted a
family but having one became a struggle for us. After years of trying,
we were finally blessed with a beautiful little girl, Scarlet. When she
was only a few months old, we noticed that she was highly sensitive to
commercial baby items including diapers. We decided that if we made our
own products we could control what went next to her skin, and keep her
from getting rashes and burns. Scarlet’s Naturals began in our kitchen.
As our products began working for us, I started sharing them with
friends. As word spread, the demands for Scarlet’s Naturals grew.
We have loved watching these products grow and are thrilled with the
response we have gotten to them. We love being able to share them with
so many families.
