I am so excited to tell you about this book by Kelly Wels! I think it is a must-have for anyone who loves cloth diapering and wants to spread the word and share the love! It's also a must-have for families who are considering switching to cloth.
"Changing Diapers: The Hip Mom's Guide To Modern Cloth Diapering" is a full guide to all things cloth diapers! I want to buy dozens of them and give them to all my mommy friends. Kelly takes everything you want to know/need to know about cloth diapering and she puts it in one easy to read book.
Think of all the things you had to research when you started using cloth diapers. Diaper types, diaper brands, accessories, wet bags, pail liners, and all that jazz. Kelly lays it all out in easy to understand language without all of the "lingo" that confuses newbies.
There is a chapter about why you should choose cloth, a chapter with all the diaper types and accessories explained. Choosing the right brand, diapering different ages, diapering multiples, dealing with common cloth diapering issues, wash routines, and more!
There is an awesome chapter just for daddies, with a few pages written by Kelly's husband. I giggled a few times while I was reading that chapter! I love guy's perspective of diapers! They don't get quite as obsessed as we do, but they do "find the love"!
There are colorful pictures of pretty diapers, and at the back of the book there's a list of what each diaper is, I spotted a few in there that I'd like to try out sometime!
One of the coolest things is the "extras" in the back of the book. A checklist to keep track of what you have/need. Diaper bag packing tips, a chart to keep track of your stash, and a place to record your favorite places to shop!
If you are just getting started with cloth diapering or considering starting, this book will save you HOURS of searching the internet for information! It is all right here, laid out very clearly! I think that retailers should send it out with trial packages to help families decide what is going to work the best for them!
